Align the board
Move and resize the rectangle so its edges match the outer grid. Use a straight, upright board. Rotate if needed.
Choose a region and click cells to paint. Arrow keys move focus, Space uses the selected tool, X marks a cell. Each region must be connected.
What the solver can tell you
It distinguishes an invalid board, no solution, more than one solution, a unique solution, and a search that has not finished. A unique answer stays hidden until you choose to reveal it. A hint is offered only when a supported logical rule explains a step.
Screenshot support
Best results come from upright, evenly spaced square grids with flat, visibly different region colors. Choose the grid size, crop tightly to the board and check the prefilled regions. Similar colors, heavy markings, shadows or missing edges can confuse sampling. Edit regions and marks manually before solving. No particular third-party app or screenshot style is guaranteed.
Correct a screenshot prefill before solving
Prefill samples region colors from the crop. It does not understand an app’s level number, infer its rules or reliably read existing cat and × symbols. An attractive prefilled grid can still represent the wrong puzzle.
Start with the outer grid, not the decoration
Rotate an upright board into position and match the crop to the outer edges of the grid. Exclude toolbars, captions, shadows and the space around the board. Choose 5×5, 6×6 or 8×8 to match the image; a wrong size moves the sample locations even when the crop looks centered. Numeric crop controls offer an alternative to dragging.
Inspect structure before adding marks
Read the region letters cell by cell against the source. Two similar colors may have merged into one letter, while a cat or dark mark may split one region into several groups. Choose a palette region and paint the incorrect cells. There must be exactly one connected region for each letter; equal colors do not excuse disconnected patches.
Add existing cats with Add cat. Add × marks only if you want to preserve and deliberately test those assumptions. A missing fixed cat can explain two solutions; an extra guessed cat or incorrect exclusion can explain no solution. Neither result alone proves that the source puzzle is faulty.
Recheck after a change
Confirm the size, regions, cats and marks only after reviewing the current grid. Rotating, changing the crop or size, reading again, or undoing the interpretation invalidates prior confirmations and results. Review and confirm the revised input before solving. If colors remain unreliable, use the manual editor to draw the same structure directly.
Images stay on this device. Choosing another image replaces the temporary interpretation; keep your original file if you need it later. No particular third-party app, tilted photo or screenshot style is guaranteed to work.
